Fast and Furious (2009)
8/10
2009-04-11 20:47
It's 2009 and Fast and Furious is back. The cars, the music, the racing is all back including Dom Toretto. This Fast and Furious could well be called an interquel as it's set 5 years after the first movie but before the Tokyo Drift movie. Apparently Vin Diesel wanted to make a proper movie and the best time to set it was after the first movie instead of faffing around with the story lines from the latter two movies.

Valkyrie
5/10
2009-01-25 14:07
A much awaited movie for myself as I'm a bit of a history buff, Valkyrie arrived at the UK cinemas on the 23rd January, the same weekend as Underworld: Rise of the Lykans and whilst I will be seeing them both this weekend Valkyrie came first. An awesome cast portrays the circle of men who attempted to assassinate Hitler for the last time during the Second World War. Tom Cruise plays Claus von Stauffenberg who was the key role in delivering the final blow to the Nazi Regime and ending the Second World War and stopping the destruction of Europe and the rest of the world.

Seven Pounds
5/10
2009-01-18 12:03
A muchly anticipated movie from Will Smith after the Pursuit of Happyness. I will not count Hancock and I Am Legend as my reviews of those were not the best. This time round I thought Will Smith would be able to give us something to watch, enjoy and talk about. Two of those things happened and one was a major fail.

Australia
9/10
2009-01-02 22:23
Starring Nicola Kidman and Hugh Jackman, Australia is an epic movie with a romantic twist yet with action and adventure throughout. Set in the time that Australia was about to feel World War 2 at home, a posh Lady from England (Nicole Kidman) travelled thousands of miles to find out what her Husband had been doing with their foreign business.

The Day The Earth Stood Still
8/10
2008-12-15 00:51
the entirety of the movie was intriguing with awesome visuals throughout. Reeves and Connolly play very good parts however I believe the star of the show was Jaden Smith who played Jacob. For a small kid he certainly put in a massive effort with the movie adding emotion where it wouldn?t have been.

Lakeview Terrace
1/10
2008-12-08 00:38
Jackson takes it upon himself to be the all seeing eye of the neighbourhood and involves himself way to much in the daily running of peoples lives and especially his new next door neighbours. A constant pain in the newlyweds lives with constantharrasment and directed hate to them being a mixed race couple. In the end Wilson and Washington fight back.

Body of Lies
5/10
2008-11-22 20:17
It's become aware that with everything that is going on in the world today that new technologies are being used more and more. The CIA takes a prominent position in the Body of Lies, with Russel Crowe and Leonardo di Caprio playing the leading parts.

Quantum of Solace
9/10

The sound which they've used throughout the film is astonishing, they've got it exactly right. Every crump of a bullet, every explosion or bang sounds so crisp you feel like you're stuck smack bang in the middle of hell.

Fool's Gold
6/10
2008-04-26 22:40
Matthew McConaughey and Kate Hudson star in this romantic comedy love twist treasure hunt in the sea. McConaughey plays Ben Finnegan, a typical surf bum, always getting in to trouble and finding it hard to get out of it. He is also obsessed with trying to find the ?Queen?s Dowry? treasure which was lost in 1715.

Never Back Down
7/10
2008-04-06 10:16
The Ultimate Fighting Championship meets Karate Kid. Seeing the trailer for the first time I thought it was another Fast and the Furious movie, but with nothing else on at the moment decided it was worth a viewing in comparison to the other let downs.

10,000 BC
4/10
2008-03-15 13:21
I would say that 10,000 BC is a DVD movie to watch rather than a cinema movie. I was getting uncomfortable within the first 30mins as I could not get in to it enough. At time I was even bored. The story line was drawn out and seemed more than factually off in a number of places.

Rambo
8/10
2008-02-23 00:47
It?s like this, if you like Rambo anyway you will love the movie. If you love action films you will love the movie. If you love gore you will love the movie. If you like all three of those things you are in for a decent sit down!

Ryan Reynolds plays Will Hayes, a mid-thirties Dad living in New York. With the arrival of his divorce papers on his work desk, the story starts. He picks up his 10 year old daughter Maya from school where they have been taught sex education and she starts to question her Dad about his life before his marriage.

Charlie Wilson's War
5/10
2008-01-12 01:39
With a unique comical twist to an actual history lesson it was ok, it?s not going to be one of my favourites for this year and I will not be buying it on DVD. It does however give an excellent insight in to how the trouble in Afghanistan was started originally. This is the way the world works and things happen because people think it is a good idea at the time. For every action there is a re-action.

P.S. I Love You
9/10
2008-01-05 02:41
I personally thought the movie was on the same girly scale as ?The Holiday? and ?Music and Lyrics?, but this movie had something added to it, you were given a sense of realism, that it could happen due to people going through the same feeling the world over when they lose someone.

I Am Legend
6/10
2007-12-27 00:43
Will Smith plays Robert Neville, a Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S Forces and scientist who has been trying to control the virus that could potentially kill of the worlds population. The I Am Legend movie gives an insight into what happens when virus?s are played with not knowing what the full extent of nature playing can take.

We Own The Night
1/10
2007-12-16 18:46
The movie on a whole was badly put together, obviously I am no director but the direction of the movie was just wrong, some of the camera shots were outrageous and the story was just? well rubbish to be honest. Some people walked out half way through.

The Golden Compass
9/10
2007-12-09 18:43
After the fred claus let down, I really was looking forward to seeing a decent movie that I could talk about and rate highly, and it was found in The Golden Compass. The movie is an all-round take your kids to, sit down and enjoy movie.

Fred Claus
2/10
2007-12-01 18:42
Vince Vaughan plays Fred Claus, who has been in his brother?s shadow all of his life not being able to live up to his mother?s expectations and watch Nicholas Claus (Paul Giamatti) getting all the credit for being the best son.

American Gangster
9/10
2007-11-18 18:40
It is a pretty long movie, and the cinema was packed out with only a few seats left. Usually I fidget like mad at long movies, Lord of the Rings being one of my most fidgeted but this was a good one that I thoroughly enjoyed and would definitely advise everyone to go and see it.

30 Days of Night
8/10

I did enjoy the movie, like I said the effects were good and the movie itself was better than I thought it was going to be. It was nice to see the changes in the Vampires genre.

Saw 4
8/10
2007-10-28 18:35
The story had me hooked, the amount of gore was extreme and no doubt I will see Saw 5 just to answer the questions I have. I do even recommend it for the people who have seen Saw 1-3.

It was good to see Foxx in a decent role and a good movie after Miami Vice which I didn?t enjoy.
